about the posts to come

A note.

I have promised to a certain reader of this blog that I would write a poem about my experience downtown, and one about my experience at the opera. Since inspiration doesn't always come when you want it to, I have delayed writing those poems, and will probably still delay till I find time enough to do them justice.
I just wanted to let this reader know that I will write them, maybe just not soon.

Till then,

Joanna~

First, I love the picture of the smoothie! Very chic...

Sorry to hear about your mouth. I hope you're eating well again. Also, I've been waiting to hear about your opera experience, but I suppose I too must wait for your "poetry mood" to kick in, huh? I attended an opera in Washington, D.C. when I was teaching there. It was quite a spectacle. Placido Domingo, the well-known tenor, was the lead. Even though it was a beautiful experience, I vastly preferred the musical theatre production of Les Miserables to the opera. I'm very curious to hear if you liked all that Italian singing!

Finally, why were you not allowed to take pictures of Bank of America's lights? Did they think you were plotting a bank heist?? I always knew you looked a bit sinister :)

At the opera house we went to, they had the English subtitles over top of the stage, so the story wasn't too hard to figure out. But, like Justin said, even if we heard it in English, we still probably wouldn't have understood what they were saying.I am really looking forward to seeing the H.M.S. Pinafore (Gilbert and Sullivan) which will be preformed in May. We have it on DVD, so we already know what is happening, and we have heard the songs before.

I don't know why you aren't allowed to take pictures in the bank. I don't think that it is only the lights though, there was a really pretty fountain, and a piano next to it, and they had a lot of stores around, so it was kind of like a mini-mall. I didn't really understand why someone would go clothes shopping in a bank but...
Anyway, I did start writing a poem about the city, but then I decided that it was really lame, and am going to have to start over again. Not that most of my poems aren't lame, but this was lamer.
