Terribly sorry that I haven't posted in such a while, been quite busy and all that. Our computer doesn't help any, as it has been terribly trying of late, so I am left to Mum's computer, which I am free to use as she is out this morning and will not need it right now.
I did something this morning that I have never done before, but always wanted to do. I covered a book. Meaning, I sewed a cover for one of my books that I believe I shall need for the rest of my life (for what use is it to cover a book you only use occasionally, or for a short time?). This book in particular having a rather dull grey cover, it seemed the best choice.

The instructions I used can be found here http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/01/charming-book-cover.html
I actually didn't feel like using the sewing machine (mostly because it is acting up again) so I did it by hand, which takes longer, but still worked just as well. I also didn't feel like making it out of block squares, (because I hate sewing together those blocks, even on the machine!) and it worked just as well without the blocks.

That is the first of my sewing projects for the week, I am planning on filling up my supply of gifts (I like to keep a bunch on hand because you never know when you are going to need to surprise somebody) cause my supply is very low, and needs some replenishing.

Here are some pictures I took while at my grandparents house in Canada.
It is sooooooo much prettier in the summer than in the winter.

Cute book cover, Joanna. Nice work :) Good to see you last night, too.

Do you think your grandparents would notice if I came along as a bonus grandchild next time you visit them? Those pictures are ravishing!
