An ode to owing a puppy

My dear readers,

This morning I saw that Brea (our dog) was eating something inedible; since she does this often I thought I would ask her what she was eating. However, since all she heard was 'blah blah blah' I don't think it really mattered what I said. She was eating a bit of clay, which, when vigorously chewed looks absolutely abominable.

In the morning, usually when Dad is occupied in making himself some coffee, Brea ventures out of her limits and bounds up the stairs. Her cold wet nose touching me, consequently, is how I have been subject to waking up the past few days. Oh well, it is all part of having a dog.

Another "bonus" to having a dog is being forced to take the energetic puppy out on a walk in freezing temperatures. And in the frigid rain as well.

Our puppy in particular has a habit of licking the stuff off your hands when they have some delectable goodie on them. (she will lick your fingers for over a minute if they happen to have butter on them; it truly is an odd sensation, I assure you.)

But in spite of all this, I love that we now are masters of this mischievous animal, and I advise all my readers to accumulate a puppy at one point in their lives.

Your faithful writer,

Joanna Klazinga

This dog (non)lover is not convinced that owning a dog sounds like a good idea :)
