The Trip, part 1

Now, as promised, here are some pictures from the trip to Washington DC. I took over two hundred and fifty pictures in about three days. Then, on the day that we left to head back to South Carolina, my camera broke. So I won't be posting any pictures that are any more recent than this trip for a while.
While we were in DC, we really only had one day to walk around the city, and we made the most of it by walking all day. I think Mum said that it was something like eight miles. We mostly just visited monuments and memorials, and only two museums. The metal tree was in a garden of strange modern art that we parked right next to.

 Looking a map.
Probably about the prettiest alley I have ever seen.
The Washington Monument (we couldn't go in it because of the earthquake making it unstable)
Some buildings seen from the Washington monument area.
Us (except me)... if you look closely, the black figure is my brother)
Why did I take this picture again? I think these buildings may some of the Smithsonian buildings.
 The World War II Memorial

The World War II Memorial again
There were a bunch of these pictures there.
Another picture of the World War II Memorial. This was a big place.

I will be posting more later.
