This year, instead of shortbread cookies, we will be doing cottage cheese thumbprint cookies. The recipe we have uses a pound of butter, a pound of cottage cheese, and makes 8 dozen cookies. I have never done thumbprint cookies before, and apparently you put jam on them. So, since the recipe called for a cup of seedless jam, and all I had was seeded jam, I just spent the last half hour pushing the jam through a sieve and throwing away the seeds. That was fun. Now all I have to do is bake the cookies.
